I offer check-in visits at your home for your cats and dogs while you’re away. I’m the owner and founder of At Ease Pet Care, and I’ve served Lake Norman since 2017. I’ve cared for hundreds of dogs, cats, two turtles, and the occasional fish.

Free consultation: every new client gets a complimentary meet-and-greet so I can get to know you and your pet.
Complimentary services: mail pick-up, taking out trash and recycling cans, and watering plants on request. Watering plants isn’t available for 15-minute visits.

Pet sitting services and rates
Dog sitting services
Every visit includes pictures and updates.
15-minute visit: $20
A quick check-in to keep your dog’s essentials covered: fresh food and water, a potty break, and a few minutes of attention or play, depending on your dog’s mood.
30-minute visit: $30
Everything in the 15-minute visit, plus more one-on-one time: play, cuddles, or just hanging out with your dog. A good fit for dogs who enjoy company or need a little extra attention.
60-minute visit: $40
A full visit with feeding, a potty break, fresh water, and extended time for play, affection, or just keeping your dog company. Ideal for multi-dog households, senior dogs, or anytime your dog could use a little more attention while you’re away.
Medication administration: +$10 per visit
Pills, liquids, or insulin injections given on your schedule, with care and patience for dogs who need extra reassurance. Just tell me your dog’s routine and any technique that works best for them.

A quick check-in to keep your cat’s essentials covered: fresh food and water, litter scoop, and a few minutes of attention or play, depending on your cat’s mood.
30-minute visit: $30
Everything in the 15-minute visit, plus more relaxed one-on-one time: brushing, play, or simply sitting with your cat on their terms. A good fit for cats who enjoy company or need a little extra settling.
60-minute visit: $40
A full, unhurried visit with feeding, litter, fresh water, and extended time for play, affection, or just keeping your cat calm company. Ideal for multi-cat households, senior cats, or anytime your cat could use a little more attention while you’re away.
Additional services
Medication administration: +$10 per visit
Pills, liquids, or insulin injections given on your schedule, with care and patience for cats who need extra reassurance. Just tell me your cat’s routine and any technique that works best for them.
Outdoor colony monitoring: +$6 per visit
For homes with outdoor or community cats in addition to indoor ones. This includes refilling food and water stations and a general welfare check. Outdoor cats may not always be visible or accessible during a visit, so this is monitoring and support rather than guaranteed hands-on contact with every cat.
Holiday premium: +$10 per visit
Applies on Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, December 26th, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
Payments and booking info
Accepted forms of payment
Cash, check made out to Kristin Miller, CashApp (username $haveyourcake12), or Zelle (under my phone number, 214-586-3882).
Payment policy
To keep things simple and fair for everyone, upfront payment is required before visits begin. Payment is due no later than the first scheduled visit.
Booking notice
Bookings require at least 24 hours’ notice. Bookings made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a $15 rush fee and are subject to availability.

Cancellations
Once a booking is confirmed, that time is reserved exclusively for your pet(s). The 24-hour cancellation window is measured from the first scheduled visit of the booking, not from each individual visit.
- 24 or more hours before the first scheduled visit: full refund, no fee.
- Less than 24 hours before the first scheduled visit: 50% of the total booking is non-refundable.
- On or after the first scheduled visit (same-day cancellation or no-show): 100% of the total booking is non-refundable.
This policy applies to the entire booking, not visit by visit. A multi-day reservation cancelled partway through is treated the same as a same-day cancellation.
Early returns and credits
If you return home earlier than planned, any unused, already-paid visits are credited toward a future booking. Credits do not expire and are not transferable to another client.
Refunds
All payments are final once visits have begun. No cash refunds; unused visits are credited as described above.
About Kristin
Animals have always been a part of my life. I spent 13 months working for the Humane Society, and a couple of years after that at various doggie day cares, learning more than I ever expected about animal behavior, care routines, and what actually matters to the animals themselves (not just their owners).
Eventually, I started my own pet care business and have run it for over 9 years, offering the kind of care I wish I could have booked all those years ago. If you’ve ever worried about handing your pet’s care over to a stranger, I understand. I’ve been the person on the other end of that fear. I just try to be the sitter I couldn’t find.
A quick note: I’m not a veterinarian or vet tech, and I don’t have formal medical training. My experience comes from years of hands-on animal care, not clinical expertise. For anything involving your pet’s health, please always consult your veterinarian. I’m here to provide attentive, reliable care, not to replace professional veterinary guidance.
